I am a well adjusted guy with hardly any baggage, and I'm looking to extract from life all the cool stuff it has to offer. You will find me to be emotionally secure, drama free (except for the good kinds), and generally good company. I can be a bit of a nerd sometimes, but I've been assured that it's in the sexiest possible way. I have a quirky sense of humor...definitely not mainstream. I am also a serious sort, enjoying thinking, learning, and discourse. I am a compassionate and caring person with a strong sense of right and wrong. I am downright passionate about some things. I'd love to chat about them, and hear about the things you care most about.My politics lean toward liberalism, but not in a radical way. I love folks of all colors, cultures, and faiths. Despite my passions, I am not extreme. I'm a mechanical engineer. I pursue my work seriously, and manage to balance it nicely with the people and things that matter to me. Leisure is filled with my interests. I like the outdoors....seriously. Vacations are mostly spent hiking and kayaking, or sometimes taking road trips. North Rim Grand Canyon this Summer ! I would have no trouble branching out, given the right motivation. I read avidly. I like the History Channel. Spectator sports? I like baseball and football, but I don't invest time and energy into following it all closely. I am a whitewater kayaker. So now I've come to the part where I list the qualities that I find attractive, and those that I don't. This is the hardest part, I think. It's true that I know exactly what I like. But It's also true that I discover things in humans almost daily that I like, that I didn't previously know that I liked. Anyway, I will be drawn to you if you are intelligent, open minded, accomplished in some way, and funny. If you have interests, then you will be of interest to me. If you are a bit eccentric.....awesome! Kindness, charity, and compassion matter a lot to me. Laughing at my jokes matters too. Unattractive: felony criminal records, having more than 3 ex-husbands.. So what kind of stuff might you and I do together? Plenty. I'm pretty flexible. Outings that allow for lots of face time are high on my list: dinner, coffee, walking. Movies are great too.....even an occasional chick flick....if that's what you like. Me? I like historical drama (The English Patient, Zulu), comedy (Airplane!, Monty Python), and documentary (The Unbelievers). Trite though it may be, we might try a hike. The North Georgia mountains are stunning, especially with a guide who has intimate knowledge of them (that would be me) I generally appreciate the company I keep as much or more than whatever activity we happen to be doing...
