I am a 69 year old (I didn't make that up) gay man who very much enjoys being with a man. Born and raised in North Dakota, I went to school in Minnesota and Texas before teaching vocal and choral music in Michigan and Indiana. I was teaching at Culver Military Academy from 1966 to 1980, at which time I moved to The Big Island of Hawaii. I taught at a private boarding school there for 4 years. I decided teaching just wasn't for me - so I taught myself the airline computer and became a travel agent. I retired about 5 years ago. After -M E N- my passions are music and travel. Although I was able to take some nice trips while in travel, Alaska and Europe are still on my MUST VISIT list. In 2005-06, I spent almost 5 months in Costa Rica. The reason I was there so long is that I was trying to decide whether I would like to retire there. It is much like Hawaii - but more crowded in the capital (San Jose) than any of the cities in Hawaii. My favorite place was Tortuguero --- it's an area and a town and means turtle in Spanish. The flora and fauna are wonderful. I also enjoyed the people (except for the person who picked my pocket - but that's a long story. One of my main reasons for considering a move is that I wanted to get away from our president who has done horrendous harm to our country. However, moving there would be silly without having a good command of Spanish. I don't. Not only that, but my German professor at Macalester College wrote on my final grade report (on which I earned a D) "This boy Is totally helpless in linguistic matters. I think he was 100% accurate.
